|
Lisa Doll Fashions (and some Petite Doll Fashions) were made by Day-Fran Toys of Cambridge, Massachusettes. Because of this, some of the outfits look similar, and the outside packaging of some of the boxes has the same layout, if not the same information except the name. They were highly successful "Dawn clone" fashions, without a tie-in to any specific miniature fashion doll. Therefore, they were the perfect outfits to pitch to Dawn, the RockFlowers, Dizzy Girl and others.
In addition to the boxed fashions for which I have photos, I have also included pictures of some Lisa Fashions which I have loose in my collection, modeled on Dawn and her friends. |

PURPLE AND PINK BOXED FASHIONS |

The back of the purple and pink boxes show additional Lisa Fashions. There are 20 fashions in all. The unknown manufacturer which made these outfits also made fashions under the "Debbie Teen" and "Tiny Teen" names, and you will see many of the same fashions repeated there.
The model shown on the back of this box is a Dawn-clone sold under the name "Kitty" or "Miss Toyerama". |

At first I thought the difference between these two (besides the backer card) was just poor lighting.
I now have the jacket for the outfit above, and the mini for the one at right. They are two different colors.
The one above is more orangey, like a sunflower yellow. The one at right is brighter, and may actually be one sold under the "Debbie Teen" name. |

At left, Dale is wearing a version of Topper's "Chain 'Er Up" shown on the back of the fashion box, above. This variation is orange, rather than red, and there are no chains across the front. In addition, there is a band of white fabric at the hem of the skirt. The orange fabric is a thin knit, and the collar and skirt hem are a stiff-backed velveteen.
Angie wears a nylon version; the Topper fashion was usually cotton, but some have been found MIB in a nylon material.

At right are three additional Lisa Fashions in the pink and yellow boxes. There was no way to separate these into individual photos, as the original is too small.
At top left in the picture there is what appears to be a red dress or tunic top with striped pants.
At bottom left is a green poncho pants set.
To the right in the photo there appears to be a purple halter-top dress or jumpsuit with what looks to be a red cape or jacket. The purple jumpsuit seems to be identical to the pink one, above.
I have the striped pants and the purple jumpsuit, but unless and until I have the other pieces, this photo will have to do for now. |
