|
M&S Shillman produced fashions for the 6-1/2" miniature fashion doll under many brand names, including "Mini-Clothes", "Mini-Fashions", and "The Swingin' Scene". The fashions that were part of "The Swingin' Scene" involved the use of lots of lame's, brocades and other glitzy, shiny fabrics. Lace fabrics were used in abundance, as well. I have not seen many MIB Shillman fashions become available, but I will share with you what I've seen. |

The "Mini-Clothes" line of fashions were not as elaborate as "The Swingin' Scene" was. These fashions were also made a little bit larger to accommodate some of the miniature dolls---like Jeanie and Little Miss Dollikin---who towered up to 7" tall.
I have two variations of the pink outfits to the left and right in my possession. The coat on the left in my personal collection is striped in two shades of pink.
The mini on the right seems to have been available in green, since that is the one I have, and they are too nearly identical in design and construction to be anything other than made by the same manufacturer. |

I'm not sure of the production date for the Shillman Fashion Doll at the left, but she is slightly smaller than Dawn, standing only six inches tall, and from the style of her outfit, I would place her either late 1970's or very early 1980's. I include her here to show the outfit, in case you come across one and wonder who it belonged to.
The blister pack at the right shows four pairs of go-go type boots very common for miniature fashion dolls of the 1970's. These boots were cheaply made of lightweight plastic, and have a tendency to split down the front seam where they were joined. |
