| Sarah Louise is a miniature version of the Pedigree Sindy doll, who is Barbie-sized. Sarah Louise, with her sweet little face, is a 6-1/2" tall strung doll who was "made exclusively for Debeham's" Department stores in Great Britain. She's even marked that way on her back, in addition to "Made in Hong Kong". | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| By "strung doll", I mean to say that Sarah Louise's arms and legs are connected inside her hollow body with rubber bands or elastic string. These elastic bands loop over hooks set into the ball-joint of the arms at the shoulder, and in the legs at the hips. Sarah Louise has a twist-n-turn waist, where the upper torso pivots into the lower. The lower torso often splits at the sides, literally causing the bottom to drop off. The arms are jointed at the elbows, and the legs at the knees. Over-stressing these joints can cause cracking, as you see on my poor Sarah Louise at left (her left knee-joint is cracked on the inside of the leg). However, this flexibility gives Sarah Louise the opportunity to pose in just about any position you can think of. The head sits on a large, round neck knob, allowing the head to tilt and pivot to any angle, again offering more flexibility for posing. |

| A identical doll was made by Zodiac Toys, and sold usually dressed in a ballerina outfit. She was known as "Judy", and is marked "Made Exclusively for Zodiac (Toys) Ltd." and "Made in Hong Kong". In addition, Ocean Toys produced a Little Ballerina doll with the exact same face as Sarah Louise and Judy. She is marked with the Ocean Toys logo on her back and "No. 65163". |

| There are apparently additional fashions that were made available for Sarah Louise, but I have only seen a couple come up for auction, and I wasn't going after them at the time. I did save the photos, however, shown below. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
